Rebecca's Birthday Card

I'm trying to 'catch up' a few cards I made earlier this month. This is an owl card I made for Rebecca's birthday. It's the cute owl from Wild Card. I cut the card on blackout in brown cardstock and then did the regular cut on the pink patterned paper. It cuts these flaps that are supposed to represent feathers. I used some ink around the edges and stitching around the eyes to give it a little detail. Whoops, this photo doesn't include the eye detail that was added later!

Dad's Birthday Card

This is a card I made for my Dad's Birthday on January 24. Happy Birthday Dad! I once again used Wild Card for the present cut out. I like the envelopes that can be cut to match the cards, but there has to be an easier way to figure out the size.

Matching Valentine's Card

Here's the card I made to match the mailbox. I used the same papers and the argyle icons from the Wild card cartridge. The hearts are the same as those on the mailbox from Wanderings. Post a comment and let me know what you think.

Valentine's Mailbox

I made this from one of the $1 mailboxes from the Target Hot Spot. I purchased it on a trip to Chicago and it was the last one in the bin. I've looked in several other Target's, but no luck, they're all sold out for this year. Anyway, the mailbox is hot pink and covered with Zig Zag paper from Reminisce. The hearts are cut from Gypsy Wanderings and the flag backgrounds are from Mini Monograms. The zig zag ribbon around the ends is Bazzill and was found in the Hot Spot bin at Archivers. The final detail is the ink stitching with white and black pens. I plan on making a matching Valentine's card and will post it as soon as I can.

The Beginning

I'm just starting out in the blogging world and have much to learn, so bear with me through the rough patchs!

I've started this blog as a way to archive my creations. I began as a card maker and have evolved over the past few years into layouts and altered items. My crafting world really opened up with the puchase of the Cricut one year ago in Miami. I can't even remember the last time I made a card without using my Cricut. I received a Gypsy for Christmas and LOVE that I can plan layouts from anywhere. I just have to remember to take the charger!

My current project is one that I gave a lot of thought to before I decided to go for it. I've titled it 'A Year In The Life'. I'm doing a daily photo documentation of 2010. So far, I've kept up with the photos and layouts, but see if I make it through the entire year. I have a feeling this year is going to be full of changes for me and those in my life.
