December Papertrey Blog Hop

Merry day after Christmas-I hope you had a wonderful holiday. I wasn't sure I'd have time to play along with this month's Blog Hop, but once things calmed down I was able to carve out a little crafty time.

The inspiration photo for the hop can be found at Nichole's Blog  HERE.  The photo is a crafty party scene full of cheerful colors.

I was inspired by the background confetti to make a Happy New Year card using Confetti Toss. The confetti is stamped in a combination of Bright Buttercup, Hibiscus Burst and Hawaiian Shores. The sentiment was created with the alphabet stamps from Pencilgrams and the stitched ovals were die cut from Noted: Scalloped A2.

November Papertrey Blog Hop Challenge

Hello and Welcome!

Today is the monthly blog hop with Papertrey Ink. You can read all about the hop, join in and take a peak at all the wonderful projects created from the bright and cheerful inspiration photo HERE.

The inspiration photo is gorgeous as always. The scene of shiny ornaments against the white tree and the little truck provided the inspiration for my Holiday card.

The truck is from Tiny Treats: Valentine and the ornament, bell, tree and present are from Tiny Treats: Christmas. The images in these sets are oldies but goodies I reach for again and again. The edge of the white panel was taped off before stamping to create an invisible frame line. The sentiment was heat embossed with black powder on vellum card stock. The stamped panel is popped up on a piece of foam and attached on top of Raspberry Fizz gingham print patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Assembly Line Cardmaking

Hello and welcome!

I decided it was past time to get started on my Holiday cards as I generally send out somewhere in the neighborhood of 40-50.  The plan was to use Fair Isle Motifs from Papertrey Ink for one of the designs and their Make It Monday this week was just the kick I needed to get moving.

There are so many options for creating a pattern with this set and when you consider the color possibilities, the choices are unlimited.

I used the MISTI stamping tool, which makes it so easy to ensure the images are not only straight, but spaced appropriately.

I made 8 cards, 4 of each color combination.

October Papertrey Blog Hop Challenge

Hello and welcome!

It's a beautiful autumn day here in Southern Illinois. The sun is shining, the leaves are changing colors, the air is crisp and football playoffs are happening.

The inspiration photo for this month's blog hop is as inspiring as always. You can check out the photo and get all the details to play along by clicking HERE

Here's what I came up with:

After using mostly die cuts for the most recent challenges, it was good to use multiple stamp sets!  I was first drawn to the sheet music in the photo so I used Background Basics: Sheet Music as the base of the image. First, I stamped two pumpkin outlines from Autumn Pumpkins. The Pumpkins were masked so the sheet music could be added over the top but not cover the Pumpkins. I always forget how easy it is to use a masking technique and wonder why I don't do it more often.  I used the solid image stamps to add color to the Pumpkins.

The sentiment is from Autumn Abundance (one of my favorite stamp sets ever!  Change up the colors and it can be used year round.).  There was a bit too much blank space at the top so I added a partial leaf swag also from Autumn Abundance.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out all the beautiful blog hop projects.

Make It Monday #263

The technique for this week is to build a background using frames.

I used a frame from the Framed Out series to make a holiday card mixing traditional and non-traditional colors. The sentiment is from Holiday Folk.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Make It Monday #261

Hi and Happy Sunday Afternoon. While I had supplies out for the September PTI blog hop I thought I'd see if I could work on this weeks Make It Monday challenge to use florals on a masculine card.

This is what I came up with. I think the use of flowers for masculine cards really depends on the occasion and the recipient.  I chose to use a floral cover plate but with a darker color scheme. It has a little bit of a safari feel to it with the green and khaki.

September Papertrey Blog Hop Challenge

Hello and Welcome !

I had a little time this morning to play along with the monthly blog hop at Papertrey Ink. For all the details go to Capture the Moment

This month's inspiration photo is full of good things:  Pinecones, wrapped packages, tags and twine. I focused on the warm colors and the bit of greenery. To me, it's a very simple card but it speaks to the warmth of the season and the changes that come with Autumn.

I'm off to check out the entries. I hope you have a beautiful day!
