It's a Good Day!
Just stopping in to share my joy! After months of looking, comparing, deciding, changing my mind and trying to get one more day out of my computer......I did it......I purchased a new laptop! This day has been months in the making. I just couldn't make myself do it. I am typing this entry using George right now. Oh yeah, I named him George. He just needed a name. As soon as I get everything installed and set up, I'll be back! Have a good one!

Bright and Cheerful
I'd just like to start by explaining about last weeks blog post.....or rather the lack of a post. Because of my schedule, I generally only get creative on Saturday and Sunday. Surprisingly, last week I was feeling the creative spirit on Friday as well so I thought I'd get a jump start on Christmas cards for the month of June. I stamped quite a few images and spent a little time on Friday and Saturday coloring them with Copics. I tried a few different color combinations and am pretty happy with the focal images. On Sunday, I attempted to combine the images with patterned paper and card bases and nothing was working for me design-wise. Now I have a variety of pieces, but nothing is glued down. I'll try to make it work again, but I guess I needed to step away for a little bit.
Today, I tried out a few new flower stamps to make basic cards. I like the result....they're bright and cheerful and simple. Just change up the color combo or sentiment and I have a few new cards to add to my everyday stash.

Kiddo
Whew.....what a busy weekend! Nothing grand, but a lot of little things that never seem to end. I've been posting a lot of cards lately so I thought I'd share a scrapbook page this week.
I'm not sure I've ever made a single page layout, I'm more of a double page kinda gal. But I only had this one recent pic of Christopher so I tried my hand at a one-picture, single page layout and I'm liking the result! Christopher just finished first grade so the school themed papers seemed very appropriate. See ya next week.

Birthday Mums
I was playing around today with a few flower stamps and this is one of my favorites. Simple but colorful. I stamped the mums and colored them in with copics. I know they aren't traditional mum colors, so I made another using rust and a dark yellow. In addition to the these two cards, I made 10 more simple cards with a variety of sentiments to build up my card stash and a couple others for a total of 14 cards today!! Tomorrow's plan is to work on a couple of layouts while watching the ballgame. Enjoy your weekend!

I'm Back!
Good Morning!
Well, it's been almost a month since the last post and I've been on the search for a new computer. I haven't taken the plunge yet, but I'm getting closer. On the bright side, I'm finally able to post photos again AND even 'found' the photos I thought were lost from April. So, overall a good day so far and it's not even noon!
Although I haven't been posting anything, never fear, the creativity has continued with weekly cards and layouts.

This card is for the daughter of a friend. Next weekend is her High School graduation. She's heading to college in Nashville, TN next fall so I'm tucking a Target gift card inside to help her decorate her dorm room. I used the same concept as a card I made a few months ago-just changed up the colors and sentiment. It's so quick and easy I can see this quickly becoming my go-to card design because it's so versatile for any occasion and can be for a guy or girl by simply changing the colors.
See ya next week!

Houston we have a problem
Where to begin......I guess I'll start with the obvious.....my computer is making me crazy! I've been having problems with it for a while but I may have reached the end of my patience. I am no longer able to load photos from my camera to the computer. I've tried deleting the Kodak program and re-installing it several times this week. At first, everything appears to be fine. The last step of installation is to restart the computer, but when it restarts, I get an error message that says to run set up and choose repair then restart again. It's a vicious cycle of restart, error, repair, restart, error, repair. I do have a Photo Keeper memory stick that I was updating once a month, so I guess the only pictures I really lost were those taken in April.
So, no picture this week of the card I made. I've picked out my papers for this weeks layout, but haven't worked it out yet so I guess this is it for today.
Wish me luck.

First Card
Happy Easter!
My family came to spend the holiday weekend and I was able to walk my Mom through making her first card! She created her own background with stamps, used the Big Shot to die cut a frame and discovered the magic of Versamark ink.
As the card says, Wishing you Blue Skies and Sunshine! Till next time...
